Unit Overview

Have you ever considered the idea that sports events may not be socially just or even what social justice might look like in sports.

This unit of work looks at the Commonwealth Games and asked the question 'does sport and social justice collide'? The unit incorporates SOSE, PE, Maths, English and ICT and you will make connections with the schools Sports Day through both house and individual interaction.

Throughout this unit you will work as individuals and as groups with the final assessment being a year level group presentation day. The aim of this integrated unit is for you to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges presented in organising a socially just sports event.
